Team USA basketball survived a scare against Serbia in the semifinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Thursday.
The United States faced a 13-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter, but outscored Serbia 32-15 in the final period to narrowly escape and move on to the gold medal game against France. The U.S. trailed by as much as 17 points in the second half.

The U.S. were led by Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry, who turned in easily his best-ever performance on the international stage. Curry scored a game-high 36 points and nailed nine 3-pointers, with 17 points coming in the first quarter.
Right behind Curry was LeBron James, who added 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, while Joel Embiid scored 19 points.

Serbia, led by three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic, held a 54-43 advantage at halftime. Jokic finished the game with 17 points, 11 assists and five rebounds, but was outscored by teammate Bogdan Bogdanovic, the Atlanta Hawks guard who scored 20 points against the United States.
Now, the U.S. shifts its attention to the Olympic final, where it’ll face host country France and young phenom Victor Wembanyama.
