    Vintage Cup Holder Tea Glass Holder Cup Elk Deer Podstakannik Soviet USSR A.
    The stand is a stand that covers and supports a glass tumbler, most of which is cylindrical in shape and has a handle to use hot tea without burning your palm. In Russia and the CIS, glass holders are traditionally used in railway transport as an indispensable element of table setting (their use significantly increases the stability of glasses). In addition, coasters are used to remove heat so that the glasses do not burst when boiling water is poured into them.
    It is believed that the coasters of the modern form appeared in the Russian passenger trains when Sergei Vitte was the director of the Department of Railway Affairs of the Ministry of Finance (since 1889) and the Minister of Railways of the Russian Empire (in 1892). The largest production of glass holders is located in the town of Kolchugin, Vladimir region, at the factory of cutlery and tableware, founded by merchant Alexander Kolchugin in the 19th century as part of a metallurgical manufactory (currently the production is located in the 7th workshop of consumer goods of the Kolchugtsvetmet factory).
