Royal Vienna Style Hand Painted Lady Drummer Cobalt Gold Chocolate Cup & Saucer

Nice porcelain empire form chocolate cup and saucer. The cup is decorated with a hand painted scene of a classical woman playing what appears to be a drum or a tambourine frame in gold gilt floral scrollwork and net/lattice design over a cobalt background. Gold gilding along the rim and to the handle. The saucer is also decorated with cobalt blue with gold gilt florals crollwork and net/lattice design. Gold gilding along the edge. Both pieces are marked on the bottom with a pseudo Royal Vienna shield/beehive mark in overglaze blue and the number 98.
Has some wear to the gilding. The cup has a partially gilded over chip to the lip with an associated tight crack extending off the lip. No additional chips or cracks.
The cup measures approximately 3 5/8 inches wide x 4 1/8 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 5 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
